Artist' Books in Library Collections at the San Francisco Public Library

Michelle C. Smith, SFPL Conservation Technician presented fascinating challenges and successes that public library collections face while safekeeping and sharing unique book collections with the public. Members of BAACG and others in attendance were treated with viewing and discussion of examples from the SFPL Book Arts & Special Collections including a folded book bound in a walnut shell and a Mobius strip book. These and many more unique artists' books and special exhibitions are available for viewing on the sixth floor of the San Francisco Public Library 100 Larkin St. It is truly worth a visit!
