About the event
Part one of a two-part series. Join your fellow BAACG members, concerned colleagues, and an occupational therapist to explore the aches, pains, and injuries stemming from the specific demands of our profession. While conservators are well-versed on potential health issues from exposure to mold, solvents, lung irritants, and more, the risk of physical harm to our joints and musculoskeletal systems due to repetitive and sometimes awkward work positions is less frequently addressed. We will discuss the reasons for this and how we can support ourselves and our colleagues in giving these issues equal importance in the workplace. Our guest expert will provide tips on stretches, ergonomic devices, and adjustments to positioning and workflow that can help alleviate or prevent common ailments such as neck, shoulder, wrist, and back pain. Then don't miss Part 2, a private yoga and stretch session overlook the San Francisco Bay!
