About the event

BAACG is thrilled to invite you to view a sweeping and comprehesive private collection of 19th to 20th Century Russian and Soviet Union Folk Art. Collected over decades by BAACG members Svetlana Shuster and her late husband Vladimir, the hundreds of objects on view include regionally dressed stockinette dolls with individual expressions, beautifully carved and painted wooden implements for daily use, exquisite nesting dolls, and delicate clay figurines. Our host Lana will explain the history behind these diverse crafts, as well as the story of her family's collection, care, and detailed documentation of these historically significant pieces. Light snacks will be provided, and a no-host lunch will follow at a nearby eatery for those available to stay. Space is limited so, if interest warrants, the tour will be broken into two time slots. Please RSVP to hold a space for yourself. This is a members only event.
