BAACG is pleased to offer this very special opportunity to our members and the wider Conservation and Collections communities. Organized by plastic specialists Olivia van Rooijen & Carien van Aubel, the Plastic Identification Workshop is an extremely popular course that is very rarely taught outside of Europe. Developed for anyone working closely with art collections containing plastics, the workshop will teach participants to categorize as many plastic objects as possible with the Plastic Identification Tool, so they can return to their institutions or clients and perform independent identifications in the future.
During the first two days of the workshop, different types of plastics will be showcased, and the instructor will explain how to use both the digital Plastic Identification Tool and the (optional) Plastics ID Toolkit**, a kit containing physical testing materials and reference samples.
